Let’s continue on from where we left off, with Part 3 of our guide on the Best Moderately Priced Restaurants in Kent.

Amici Restaurant
30 North Street, Ashford, Kent TN24 8JR

The following review come from Gareth (from Ashford) who talks about his experience at the Amici Restaurant, “Been meaning to try this restaurant for ages, from the outside it looks like a small regular Italian restaurant. However, as soon as you step through the door you’ll be transported to an authentic Italian restaurant in rural Italy. The atmosphere is fantastic, it really felt like we were on holiday and the service was friendly and attentive.”

Gareth goes on to say, “The menu had a great range of authentic Italian food, we visited at lunch and had the choice of the lunch or main menu and still went for the lunch menu. The selection of food on the lunch menu was great and made us feel like we weren’t compromising – value for money was superb. All in all Ashford needs more places like this, authentic cuisine, great value, fantastic service and superb atmosphere – this is a place we will visit again and again!!”

Café Nucleus
Kentstone Court 272 High Street, Chatham, Kent ME4 4BP

Don’t be miss led by the word “Café” – this is far from your greasy spoon! Just read the following experience from a Café Nucleus and you’ll see why, “I discovered this delightful café on Groupon and decided to treat my mum to Afternoon Tea there today 9/2/13. We had such a great time !! There was a private party in the Café & so we were seated in the Gallery, it was lovely, comfortable sofas & gentle relaxing music. We looked at the art exhibits whilst waiting for our Afternoon Tea, the exhibits were wonderful & the afternoon tea was fantastic !!

The reviewer continues by saying, “We chose which tea we wanted then the food arrived, a selection of dainty finger sandwiches, fresh scones, cream & jam with petit fours – plenty for two & absolutely delicious!!, we were full up. The service was impeccable, the staff friendly and helpful. It was a lovely experience & I cant wait to do it again !!, it will be lovely to sit in the courtyard in Summertime – perhaps then I will try the Champagne Afternoon Tea ! – Café Nucleus=A Real Treat !!!”

The Plough Inn at Lewson Street
Lewson Street, Norton, Faversham, Kent ME9 9JJ

Loopyloo from Sittingbourne passes on he experience from dinning out at The Plough Inn, “This place has to be one of the best places we have found since we moved here. You can always be sure of a warm welcome with comfortable and cosy surroundings and fabulous unfussy food. Our young children are always given time and attention by the staff with anything on the menu being adapted to suit small tummies and sometimes fussy eaters. In the nicer weather there is a great garden and being off the beaten track a bit, it is peaceful and quiet. However, having said that it is just minutes from the A2 heading towards Faversham. To add to the charm, try talking to Bob, the resident African grey parrot, keeps my children entertained for ages. A real gem of a place that we love.”

Secret Spices
104 Ramsgate Road, Margate, Kent CT9 4BH

The following review comes from Cat D, “Secret Spices had been recommended to me and I’m so glad we finally went! The staff were attentive (but not intrusive) and the food… oh my! The food!! Even my super picky 16 year old daughter said it was the best tikka shed ever had. While there are the ‘regular’ curries, there are specialty dishes too which are definitely worth trying. I will definitely be going back.”

Maharani Indian Restaurant
24 West Street, Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 1AP

Andy H from Canterbury, talks about his experience at the Maharani Indian Restaurant in Sittingbourne, “I have been here a number of times and every time is just simply fantastic. We have never used a menu, boss knows all, asking you how you like it and he has never got it wrong. The staff are very helpful and very tolerant of slightly drunk people. Would I visit again, silly question, most definitely!”
