Great Restaurants in Kent

Kent is such a large county that if you were thinking of dinning out you most probably would only look locally, but doing this means that you are missing out on a host of great restaurants. So, we decided to help you by producing a series of articles about the best moderately priced restaurants in Kent, according to the reviews.

So, let’s get started…

Bollywood Buffet
11 Canterbury Street, Gillingham, Kent ME7 5TP

Bollywood Buffet is located in Gillingham, Kent. This is the review of one customer who ate at Bollywood Buffet, this is what they had to say, “Bollywood Excellence!! We went to Bollywood Buffet to celebrate my baby shower with the family. The food was homemade and fresh with amazing flavours. The service and hospitality we received from Rav and his family was exceptional and very warming.” They went on to say, “I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking to enjoy the taste of India at a very reasonable price. I wish Rav and his family all the best with there future ventures.”

The Holy Pundit
Princess Parade, Hythe Imperial Hotel, Hythe, Kent CT21 6AE

The Holy Pundit is situated in Hythe, Kent. Just read the following review from a happy customer, “The best authentic meal I have had. Excellent choice of Meat and Fish dishes. All had exciting and unusual flavours. Quite different from the usual Indian Restaurants. Meal was enjoyed by all my family and we came again the following evening to work our way through the menu.” They finish by saying, “We thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The staff, Manager and Chef were very helpful and friendly which made a very enjoyable evening. Good selection of quality wines all at reasonable prices.”

The Hythe Brasserie
Douglas Avenue, Hythe, Kent CT21 5JT

Another Hythe based restaurant, this time The Hythe Brasserie. This review starts off with bold claims, “Stunning food as always!Probably the best restaurant for fine dinning in the south Kent area… The menu is always a real treat and the selection mouth watering… Never had a bad meal here always first class… Excellent wines too.. Perfect setting with a small number of tables creating a wonderful dinning experience… Great Hosts too!! Be warned!! You need to book way in advance for a Saturday evening!!”

The Vintage Empire
104 High Street, Herne Bay, Kent CT6 5LE

The Vintage Empire is based in Herne Bay, Kent. This review by Sue and Ian and they say, “We were first drawn to this by the window – beautifully done but assumed as it was a tea room that we would not be allowed in with our dog, then Janice saw us and pointed to the front door which had written on it “dog friendly”. We had to go in and so glad we did.” Sue and Ian continue by saying, “I love vintage and do tea parties myself and get disappointed when tea rooms try to be vintage but don’t quite manage it. This place is the best! The wallpaper, crockery, tables, chairs, crochet blankets, music, lavatories – even the menu was a ration book – all perfect for the 40’s experience. Bravo…… Janice was the icing on the cake as she was so friendly, gave us a bowl of water for Alfie and information on the area. Very reasonably priced too. All in all a fantastic experience – one which will stay with me for a long while. Well done.”

The Corner House Minster Restaurant
42 Station Road, Minster, Ramsgate, Kent CT12 4BZ

The Corner House Minster Restaurant is located in Ramsgate, Kent. Shirley’s review starts by saying, “I have reviewed this restaurant before as we, as a family all visit regularly with different friends and family members. Yesterday we went for lunch as a party of ten for my husband’s birthday. I had the cod, others had steak or chicken pie. We had a variety of starters and a huge sharing desert. All of the food, without exception, was beautifully cooked and presented. Even the children’s meals were presented beautifully and enjoyed by our two and five year old grandchildren.”

Shirley’s review continues, “The service was was really friendly and helpful and we were not rushed in any way. My son in law travels extensively in his work and eats out regularly. He commented that his steak was the best he had ever had. I can thoroughly recommend the poached egg and asparagus too but to be honest I think the same care is taken with all of the dishes, so doubt that any would disappoint. This little restaurant is a real gem and we are so lucky to have it so close to us. It thoroughly deserves the awards that it has won and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.” Finally, she concludes with, “Without exception, all of the friends and family that we have taken here have returned a number of times. We are now looking forward to visiting the Corner House in Canterbury very soon.”
