Earlier this year before the Coronavirus pandemic, Blue Square Management was honoured to be the event photographer for local Kent charity, Hospices of Hope, launch of their 2020 Bagpuss Appeal. Special guests Emily Firmin, who played Emily in the Bagpuss TV programme, Simon Postgate, son of Oliver Postgate, to co-creator of Bagpuss, and let’s not forget, Bagpuss and Lizzie Mouse, attended.
The appeal launch also coincided with Bagpuss’s birthday. 12 February, which is the date the very first episode of the Bagpuss television show was broadcast in 1974.
The Bagpuss Appeal is an annual event to raise £215,00 to help run the Bagpuss Childrens’ Wing, which is part of the hospice in Brasov, Romania. The Bagpuss Children’s wing takes care of seriously ill children for free. Without these services many children and their families would not receive the help they desperately need.
